From a Birmingham classic with a new location to a beignet food truck and more, there’s lots of movement in the city. Here’s the weekly rundown of openings and reopenings in the area.
Here at Bham Now, we love supporting local.
If you’re looking to shop local, but don’t know where to start, check out our local business directory with over 660 businesses.
1. What’s on 2nd
We announced in December 2020 that What’s on 2nd was making a move to Five Points South, and they’re finally in their new spot. The popular, eclectic store is now in the Spanish Stores building, one of Birmingham’s oldest and most recognizable commercial spaces, located across from the “Storyteller Fountain.”
2. Coffee Lab
Screaming Beans Coffee Co. is opening their first coffee shop called Coffee Lab in Lakeview. If you’re not familiar with Screaming Beans Coffee Co., they’re Alabama’s only mobile coffee shop and roaster that brings liquid personality to your daily cup of joe. Want to be the first one there? Follow them on social to know when they officially open.
3. My Salon Trussville
Looking to try out a new cut or just need a trim? My Salon Suite just opened in Trussville in the Promenade Tutwiler Farm shopping center.
If you’re not familiar with the salon, it’s like the Innovation Depot for stylists and beauty professionals. It allows them to lease a private stall for their own brick-and-mortar salon.
4. Motivity Chiropractic
There’s pros and cons of working from home and at an office. One con that remains the same in both locations is the terrible posture we all deal with at our desks. Luckily, there’s a new chiropractic business in town and they can help with those aches and pains, including:
- Sports Injuries
- Muscle and Joint Pain
- Headaches and Migraines
- Auto Accidents
5. Beignets and Lattes Food Truck
Get ready Bham, because things are about to get sweet! Helena’s Beignets and Lattes is hitting the road with their new food truck to bring New Orleans classic pastry and coffees to local neighborhoods. The food truck is in addition to their brick-and-mortar.
6. Whiskey Foxtrot Burger Dive
A brand new restaurant and bar is headed to Hoover. Whiskey Foxtrot Burger Dive will be located in the former Jubilee Joe’s Cajun and Seafood Restaurant and will serve burgers, hot dogs, brews and more. Check out our latest about this new spot to get your grub on.
