We were excited to hear about Homewood’s 129-room addition last fall, but now the Valley Hotel is sharing highly-anticipated news for Bham foodies. Three new restaurants are set to open on-site of the luxury hotel by late January 2021. So much for those New Year’s resolutions—hand us a fork. 💁

This trio of new businesses, which include The Valley Coffee Co., The Terrace Bar and Ironwood Kitchen & Cocktails, offers something for everyone including a full day of dining.

What happens in Vegas apparently does not stay in Vegas, because the initiation of this culinary trinity is spearheaded by a famed Las Vegas restauranteur, Executive Chef Doug Zuk.

“Both Ironwood Kitchen & Cocktails and The Valley Coffee Co. offer a true taste of Birmingham and Homewood. The menu offers unique, rich flavors across small plates, all perfectly paired with our mixologists’ signature craft cocktails. I’m excited to share the robust history of this city through food with our guests.”

Now on to the meat of the matter

The Valley Coffee Co.

Start your day with a cup of Joe at The Valley Coffee Co. This café will serve craft coffee, fresh-baked pastries and artisanal lunch options. On beautiful days, you can step into the adjoining courtyard and live out a little European dream right in Homewood.

The Terrace Bar

When Golden Hour hits, make your way to The Terrace Bar for fireside views of charming downtown Homewood and original cocktails. I have a sneaking suspicion this will become Birmingham’s next selfie spot. They’ll also offer brews, but no one can tell me beer tastes better than a Moscow Mule.

Ironwood Kitchen & Cocktails

Adding to the Magic City’s burgeoning culinary scene, Ironwood Kitchen & Cocktails is firing up elevated Southern comfort food. Here are a few items that’ll keep you up with at night until you try them: Smoked Short Ribs, Grouper and Grits and Smoked Chocolate Toffee Cakes.

What most intrigues me on this restaurant’s website is a photo of a marshmallow resting daintily over a cocktail.

First we eat, then we nap

When all those dinner and drinks leave you wanting a place to rest your head, you’ll be on locale at Birmingham’s latest luxury hotel. The new development is a Curio by Hilton, located at 2727 18th Street South in Homewood.
