It’s getting a bit nutty in the City of Troy as Golden Boy Foods plans to expand its Nut Butter facility in late spring 2021.

Facilitated by the City of Troy and the Industrial Development Board, the $13M expansion will make Troy one of the largest private label nut butter facilities in North America, increasing the plant’s production by 150%. Now that’s a whole lot of nuts!

But that’s not all—the expansion will also improve working conditions for employees with an air-conditioned workspace. It’s a good thing, too, because the project will bring 67 full-time jobs to the area.

“Golden Boy Foods is excited to expand our Troy, Alabama Nut Butter facility. A key factor in selecting to expand the Troy facility has been the outstanding business relationship that we have shared with local and state officials since the inception of the plant in 2011.”

Robert Jacobs, Plant Manager, Golden Boy Foods
