Best burrito in Alabama? The winner is Dos Hermanos Taco Truck, according to Far and Wide
Looking for Alabama’s best burrito? Far and Wide, a popular national travel digital publication declared a winner this past week in a post titled “We Know, You Want the Best Burrito in Every State.” So, who took home the title?
Drumroll please…..
The best burrito in Alabama is – Birmingham’s Los Dos Hermanos Taco Truck.
Spectacular Burritos
This is how Far and Wide described Los Dos Hermanos’ cuisine to their more than 2.5 million monthly readers.
“Bring an appetite and some cash because this cash-only taco truck is the hottest place to get your Mexican food fix in Birmingham. Tacos, tortas, quesadillas and, you guessed it, spectacular burritos are the name of the game here.”
In Birmingham for 12 Years
Last week, Bham Now caught up with Jeffrey Guzman, son of Daniel Guzman, the owner of Los Dos Hermanos Taco Truck, down the street from Innovation Depot on 1st Avenue North.
Jeffrey told me that his family has been running lunch trucks since he was born in 1996. Their first truck was in L.A. for about three years. They left for Atlanta and stayed there until Jeffrey turned 12. Then, the family set up shop in Birmingham.
“We have been in the Birmingham market for 12 years now,” said Jeffrey. “We actually got our start in Bessemer. I think we were one of the first ones (taco trucks) here.”
His reaction to the “Best in Alabama” recognition by Far and Wide?
“Honestly, we are very grateful. This honor means a lot to us because we put so much work into our food and the quality of it.”

Authentic, Quality and Customer Service
As we waited for our burrito, I asked a fellow Los Dos Hermanos devotee Derrell Bryant, who works in the Birmingham Central Business District, what he liked about their food.
“It’s authentic. I usually come here for the chicken tacos. I’ve had the burritos once or twice. But it is the authentic part I like the most.
Jeffrey added:
“Our number one priority is customer service, we are gonna make sure everytime you come to our truck it’s like the best experience ever. It really means a lot to us.”
