It all started more than 90 years ago with two cousins from Michigan. They had the idea to produce a reclining chair and established their first plant in Mississippi.
Today, there are 5 plants in the U.S., and all factories combined produce an average of 8,000 furnishings per day. In total, the company employs more than 7,500 Americans in five cities.
Supporting The South and Our Community 👏
Along with building the sofas and recliners, the materials are also locally sourced, employing workers and pumping much-needed income into local communities throughout the South. For example, the foam for the furniture comes from Mississippi.
The steel is supplied by communities in Alabama and Tennessee. The springs are produced out in Indiana and North Carolina. And the hardwood frames are created in Kentucky.
Stores are also locally owned which allows the team to be plugged into their communities.
