Brookwood is buzzing! According to the BBJ, a 25,000 square-foot boutique office building is in the works next to Shades Valley Evangelical Lutheran Church in Homewood. Here are the details on The FiveStone Group’s latest development.

Where will it be located?📍

The boutique office space will be built on the undeveloped property next to Shades Valley Evangelical Lutheran Church at 720 Shades Creek Parkway across from Brookwood Village.

The area was approved for rezoning by the Homewood Planning Commission, and the 1.289-acre eastern section of the property will be rezoned into an office building district.

“We think that it’s a terrific location in a superb submarket of our city for a boutique office building. It has fantastic access with a signalized intersection off of Shades Creek Parkway.”

What will it look like? 👀

The building would stand two stories tall over one level of parking, but no design for the building has been developed.

They may look to other neighboring buildings for architectural inspiration—which include the Luckie and Fairway buildings.

What are the next steps? ⤵️

The request now has to be approved by the City Council, and talks of tenants are underway.

“Although we’re in the midst of this crisis, it’s certainly exciting to still be working on a new development project.

Certainly, our community is still in the midst of a health care crisis, but if we can balance both the health care crisis and moving business forward, that’s what we need to do.”
