Meet Allison

Allison Nicole is a local artist, cat lover, and recent UAB graduate. She loves visiting cat cafés while traveling, and decided while studying abroad in Paris that she wanted to open her own in Birmingham.

My mission is to provide a fun and unique place for students and the community at large to relax, study, caffeinate, and de-stress with cats!

That sounds like a pretty good deal to us.

Coffee and Cookies and Cupcakes, Oh My!

A café dedicated to animals has to offer up some vegan treats. Local baker Amber Slanders (@veggiefiend on Instagram) is pairing up with the Birmingham Cat Cafe to serve delicious vegan pastries baked daily.

Here’s a preview of what you might pick up in the café:

  • Mocha latte cupcake
  • Apple pecan muffin
  • Blueberry Scone
  • Lemon tart
  • Olive + rosemary focaccia
  • Chickpea salad wrap
  • And more!

Get a look at the menu here.

Calling all Cat-Lovers—Volunteers are Welcome

Play with cats + drink free coffee. If that sounds like your idea of a good time, you’re in luck. The café is looking for volunteers. Tasks will include the following:

  • Providing hospitality to guests & answering questions
  • Grooming cats and cleaning litter boxes
  • Keeping the lounge clean and neat
  • Most importantly, loving on some cats!

If you’re interested, fill out this form.

As always, stay tuned to Bham Now to get updates on the latest and greatest in Birmingham news. This is one new business we’ll definitely be keeping up with.
