Dreaming of all the things you can go and do post pandemic? If you live in Trussville, there will be a few new things to add to your list. Check out these businesses coming soon to this Birmingham suburb.

1. Marble Slab Creamery and Great American Cookies

Marble Slab Creamery and Great American Cookies are joining forces to create the ultimate sweet treat spot! And based on their social media updates, construction is progressing quickly and they’ll soon be opening their doors.

Offering over 13 cookie flavors and 24 ice cream flavors, you’re sure to find something you like on the menu. They’ve also introduced a new menu item recently–majestic shakes! Imagine the most magical milkshake ever with cookies, fun colors and more.

Nestled in the same shopping center as Taco Mama, Metro Diner and Chicken Salad Chick, it’s the perfect location to grab some dessert.

2. Half Shell Oyster House

If you’ve been on Main Street lately, you’ve probably noticed lots of construction taking place next door to Great Harvest Bread Co. Going into the new space will be Half Shell Oyster House—a southern restaurant that’s famous for its oysters.

HSOH originated in Mississippi back in 2009 and has since expanded to numerous locations throughout Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and Louisiana. The latest being in Birmingham’s Lakeview area.

Here are a few things you’ll find on the menu:

  • Soups
  • Salads
  • Seafood
  • Steak
  • Pasta

Plus lots and lots of oysters. Get them in a number of ways such as:

  • Charbroiled
  • Bienville
  • Rockefeller

3. Sip Social

You may have heard about (or visited!) Magic City Nutrition. The shop opened in the spring of 2019 at the Battery in Birmingham. Well, say hello to its soon-to-be sister—Sip Social Trussville.

It’s still up in the air as to where in Trussville the store will be located, but according to co-owner Britni Liberton, the goal is to open before the end of 2020.

In keeping with Magic City Nutrition, Sip Social will offer quick-grab items like protein shakes and energizing teas.
