Need something to watch during quarantine? Here’s what the team recommends.
Reading time: 5 minutes
Let’s face it. We’ve got a lot more time on our hands nowadays. Remember when we would try to monitor our screentime? That went out the door as soon as quarantine started. Luckily, with help from some of the team, we’ve put together some recommendations of what to watch to pass the time.
Chaise | Content Producer
Honestly, I’m writing this article to get some ideas of what to watch as well. However, I will admit that I’ve binged every episode of The Proud Family and streamed the movie Coraline for some background noise. Here are some of my go-to shows and movies:
- Atlanta on Hulu
- The Lizzie McGuire Movie on Disney+
- The Sinner on Netflix
- The Great Gatsby (2013)
- Fantastic Mr. Fox
- Interstellar
- All of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
Lexie | Sales Intern
Lexie doesn’t have a fave genre, but she’s got good taste in movies. Along with playing Animal Crossing on her Nintendo Switch, here’s what she’s been watching:
- Tiger King on Netflix
- The Twilight Movies
- Booksmart
Patience | Content Producer
For Patience, comedy has always been her favorite, which is just what we need right now. However, she’s been finding herself getting into some drama—as in the genre! Here’s what’s been screening in her house:
- American Housewife on Hulu
- Superstore on Hulu
- Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu
- Brooklyn 99 on Hulu
I recently read the book, so decided to try out the show. It’s good so far. It’s hard not to like something that has Reese Witherspoon in it.

Irene | Content Producer
When asked her favorite genre to watch right now, Irene had some great words of wisdom.
My favorite genre is, and always will be, coming-of-age movies. I don’t care that I’m a 22-year-old college graduate who’s definitely outgrown them, we all love them and you know it. When the world is going to hell I like the comfort and security of knowing that the quirky, yet unapologetic, main character will solve their existential crises with the help of two best friends and a soundtrack full of Local Natives and the Kinks.
Here’s what’s on her movie/show quarantine bucket list:
- Booksmart
- Emma
- Lady on Fire
- Midsommar
- Community on Netflix
- Better Call Saul
- Peaky Blinders
- Euphoria on Hulu
Hannah | Content Producer
We all get in a rut sometimes and just like most of us, Hannah’s been trying to watch new movies and shows, but keeps on coming back to her favorite—Pride and Prejudice. This article was made for all the people in Hannah’s shoes right now. May I just say, that’s not a bad place to be. She has really cute shoes! Here’s what’s on her to-watch list:
- Emma
- Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu
Jacob | Content Producer
Jacob’s all about the action and suspense. Can you blame him? Maybe watching a suspenseful movie is just what we need to get our heart rates up during quarantine. Here’s what he’s been watching:
- Tiger King on Netflix
- Angel Has Fallen on Netflix
Sharron | Content Producer
If you’re using quarantine to slow things down a bit and take it easy, maybe take a page out of Sharron’s book.
Since I’m working full-time with my kids at home, time is a precious resource. That said, we’ve been slowly making our way through the entire Harry Potter series, one book followed by one movie at a time.
If you’re looking for a show to take your mind off things, Sharron suggests Unorthodox on Netflix. She’s even taken things international and started Shtisel, an Israeli TV series.
Sheila | Content Producer
Sheila’s got the right idea for binging movies throughout quarantine.
Something I’ve done over the years is watch every single Academy Award winner for Best Picture. The drastic differences between what was considered award-winning in the early 20th century and what wins Best Picture today will have you marveling at how far film making has come.
Like the majority of America, Sheila started Tiger King on Netflix, but it just wasn’t her taste. Instead, she’s binge-watched all 5 seasons of Schitt’s Creek to end her days with some much-needed laughter.
Vicky | Content Producer
Alright, guys. Vicky’s pulling out her Prince of Egypt DVD so you know things are getting real. She’s has a recommendation for almost everyone in your household like:
- 90 Day Fiance on Hulu
- Toy Story 4 on Disney+
- Siren on Hulu
- Ready or Not on Amazon Prime
Pat | Content Producer
Pat’s household has the right idea when it comes to binging. Choose a show with over 300 episodes and just let it play. That’s exactly what his wife and daughter have been doing with NCIS (10/10 would recommend btw).
Since I’m the nerd in the household, I’ve watching Ken Burns documentaries. This week I started on Baseball. I’m also watching his series on the National Parks and the Civil War.
