To avoid the spread of the coronavirus, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now suggests everyone wear a cloth face covering when out in public. Morgan Murphy must have one heckuva resume. He’s an American Southern food critic, the co-founder of Birmingham-based Victory Bacon and even handles the social media for the Pentagon’s Secretary of Defense. Say whaaa! This is one story you’ll want to read.

Beloved singer-songwriter John Prine passed away on April 7. He was known for a discography spanning more than 50 years, over 18 studio albums and dozens of live ones, but there’s something special that ties him to Birmingham. In his most recent album, he actually paid homage to Birmingham’s very own Vulcan. Check it out.
