If we’ve learned anything from this pandemic, it’s that Birmingham will always support its local businesses. Now that we’re social distancing, bars have switched to serving up our favorite drinks curbside. Check out these five cocktail kits in Birmingham to kick off your springtime quarantine.

Queen’s Park

First up is Queen Park’s Swizzle. This citrus-y, floral drink is the epitome of spring and looks as good as it tastes.

Paper Doll

Since we can’t go to Paper Doll, they’re coming to us with a series of videos called “The Quarantined Bartender” to help us become better bartenders at home. Consider this Guava Margarita recipe on my to-do list.

Mayawell

Strawberry margarita kits? Yes, please! You can even add some jalapeños if you’re feeling a little spicy. It’s described as “perfect for a sunny spring day sipping on the porch” and we couldn’t agree more.

The Lumbar

Quarantine’s the ideal time to switch things up a bit—even becoming a mad scientist. After all, The Lumbar is inspired by science. Now they’re letting you do your own little cocktail experiment at home.

  • Location: 212 29th St S, Birmingham, AL 35233
  • Contact: Order at the window or online

The Louis Bar

Of course, we can’t forget The Louis Bar. Speaking on behalf of the team, we can’t wait to get back to our go-to happy hour spot. As for now, we’ll happily settle for their curbside mimosa bottle specials and margarita kits.

Dread River Distilling Co.

Dread River may not have curbside cocktail kits, but they’ve sure been busy making a difference in the Birmingham community. They used their resources to make sanitizer for local healthcare facilities, first responders and businesses with urgent needs.

Hand sanitizer geared toward individual use is soon to come, but they want to focus on Birmingham’s workforce constantly striving to keep us healthy.

If you’d like to contribute to Dread River, they’re accepting bottles for sanitizer. Any donation, purchase of spirits or gift card purchase could make all the difference. Every little bit helps.

Feeling some refreshing brews? We’ve got you covered. Make sure to check out over 300 Birmingham businesses in our local biz database. Don’t see one of your favorite shops? Let them know it’s free to sign up and be added to our future guides.

What’s your favorite spring cocktail? Let us know on social @BhamNow. We love hearing y’all’s local recommendations.
