Coffee + Kindness. Two of the greatest sources of joy, in my opinion. Also the slogan for Blount County’s newest coffee shop, Kind Kups Coffee. Read on to learn more about your new favorite caffeine fix hotspot!

First Things First: The Location

We all know the Birmingham metro has no shortage of great local coffee shops. However, if you’re a north-of-Birmingham resident that prefers not to head all the way downtown for a quality cup of joe, we’ve got NEWS. FOR. YOU.

Kind Kups Coffee is set to open March 2020 in Cleveland, AL.

The Roots

Owners April and Kevin Browning shared a dream of opening a coffee shop that encourages and speaks life into everyone who walks through the doors.

After spending a few months meeting with the owners of local coffee shops like Innova Coffee and Nonfiction Coffee Co., they purchased land in Blount County where Kind Kups would be built.

“Kind Kups exists to serve good coffee, teas and smoothies, to offer a warm environment for community and fellowship and to spread kindness one cup at a time.”

The Coffee

Kind Kups Coffee will be serving up all kinds of amazing beverages. Classic coffee drinkers will be a fan of their delicious brews, as will drinkers of sweeter caffeinated treats like macchiatos, frappuccinos, lattes, etc.

Coffee fan or not, you’re sure to find something that will hit the spot. From fresh fruit smoothies and refreshers to unique treats like the Black Panther made with steamed coconut milk, activated charcoal coconut shells, vanilla syrup and whipped topping—there’s something here for everyone.

The Food

Ok, sure. Most coffee shops have some sort of pastry/baked good collection available for sale. But do most coffee shops have a Nutella & Fruit Waffle Taco? I think not.

While Kind Kups’ full menu hasn’t been released yet, if this preview is any indication, we are pumped.

The Kindness

All across their logo and merchandise, you’ll see a little bee icon. This serves as a reminder for all patrons to “bee kind.”

Kindness is woven into the business’s name and mission, and one way they encourage it is by completing acts of kindness within your community. When you come in, you can grab a “Bee Kind” card, write a note on the back, and give it away with your kind act.
