See the Holiday Light Show at Vulcan Park

One of my favorite childhood Christmas memories is driving through a local light display that danced in sync with music that played on a short-range radio station. Imagine my excitement when I found out that Vulcan Park and Museum does the same thing, but on a much larger scale. 

Every day from December 8 through December 23, guests can experience a 15-minute light show choreographed to classic holiday music.

The Holiday Cheer Kicks Off December 8

The Magic of Lights: Vulcan’s Holiday Light Experience starts with a bang on December 8. During the show’s premiere, students from the Alabama School of Fine Arts will perform for the crowd with special performances from 6-8PM.

Santa V will also be there from 6-8PM, so be sure to pay him a visit for that ultimate holiday photo.

 An enthralling light show is not all this event offers. There will be a few holiday-inspired kids’ games, too! Get ready for abominable snowman-themed bowling, sledding (snow not required!) and more!

During the show, Vulcan Park’s Anvil Gift Shop and Museum will be open until 9PM. Here you’ll find Birmingham-inspired items from local artisans like Earthborn Pottery and Glass Studio, plus many more! So be sure to swing by and grab a Vulcan-themed Christmas gift. 

Inside tip: keep an eye out for the Red Dot Sale on many of the shop’s items.

While there, warm up with a complimentary hot chocolate. Guests 21+ can purchase beer or wine.
