The holiday season is a time of giving. If you’re looking to give back and support the numerous important causes in Birmingham, here are nine fundraising events to check out during the month of November.

Coffee For a Cause Fundraiser–Benefiting Mitchell’s Place

While many fundraisers involve food and alcohol, this one offers something even better—coffee! It is everyone’s lifeline after all. So check this out.

November 1 through December 25, you can support Mitchell’s Place during their Coffee For a Cause Fundraiser. All you have to do is purchase a bag of Specialty Holiday Coffee via Royal Cup for $11.99. Purchase two bags and score 15% off!

All proceeds will directly benefit Mitchell’s Place and their mission to help children and families affected by autism and other developmental disabilities.

Coffee is available at select Piggly Wiggly locations, at Mitchell’s Place or via their website.

Not familiar with the clinic? One thing to note is they’ve been providing evaluation and diagnostic services for developmental, behavioral and genetic disorders for 45 years in Alabama.

On Thursday, November 7, attend the annual fundraiser Pro Hops Vino, hosted by Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham. This nonprofit organization implements programs to encourage volunteer attorneys to provide equal justice to low-income citizens of Jefferson County.

So buy your ticket, drink some wine and support the cause.

Not only will you have the chance to partake in taste testing, but you’ll also be able to cast your vote for your favorite.

A percentage of sales from the festival will benefit Girls Rock Birmingham, a non-profit organization that teaches girls how to read and play musical instruments. Rock on, y’all!

Watch those bags fly during the Charity Cornhole Tournament benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama on Saturday, November 16.

Along with the chance to compete in corn hole games, there will also be beer to guzzle and raffles to enter.

The holiday season is around the corner. Get ahead of the gift-buying game by checking out over 100 merchants during Market Noel—the Junior League of Birmingham’s annual fundraiser

All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Junior League of Birmingham’ 39 community placements that address some of the areas most critical issues, including:

  • Domestic violence awareness and prevention
  • Health education to at-risk community
  • Life skills for families in transition
  • Literacy

Every Wednesday night in November, Cahaba Brewing Company will be hosting Goodwill Game Nights benefiting Hand in Paw—a nonprofit organization that trains qualified animals and their owners to work as a team in therapeutic settings. 

Game nights are family friendly and dog friendly so bring sure to bring your crew. Food trucks will also be onsite so you can grab some grub.

Don’t forget to drink up! A percentage of all beer sales from each game night will benefit this incredible organization.
