Starting on Sunday, July 14, McWane Science Center will take visitors on a space-filled exploration to celebrate the past, present and future of lunar exploration. What activities can you expect?

  • Bottle rocket launches
  • Film canister rocket launches
  • Moon lander design challenges
  • Moon-based Science on a Sphere presentations
  • And more!

The moon-based Science on a Sphere presentation is pretty rad. Via animated images of the Earth, Moon and stars on a six-foot diameter sphere, you’ll have the chance to get as close to the moon as possible without having to actually travel there. That’ll definitely save you some time!

“As a science nerd and a science fiction buff, the Apollo landing has left a huge impression and it is part of why I do what I do here at McWane. We hope the activities during Apollo Week will inspire others just as they inspired me.”

Alia Carter, Director of Science Engagement, McWane Science Center
