Here’s your update on Stadium Trace Village in Hoover. Culver’s Restaurant opens. Big Whiskey and others coming soon
Reading time: 4 minutes
Hoover’s Stadium Trace Parkway continues to add more businesses. This week saw the grand opening of Culver’s, a Wisconsin based family-favorite restaurant chain, opposite the recently opened ALDI grocery store. More businesses are on the way as Stadium Trace Village takes shape. Find out what one local resident had to say.
Culver’s Restaurant
Culver’s opened their first restaurant in Sauk City, Wisconsin in 1984. They are famous for their Butterburgers, a combination of fresh burgers cooked to order served in a lightly buttered, toasted buttered, toasted bun. And then of course there’s the fresh frozen custard.
So what is Culver’s Fresh Frozen Custard? Well, I’m glad you asked. Just imagine some of the best ice cream you’ve ever had! Culver’s describe it as ‘wonderfully luscious and rich, it contains less air so it’s creamier and more decadent than ordinary ice cream’

ALDI, fresh groceries and home goods
Grocery store chain ALDI opened their concept store at Stadium Trace Village back in December 2018. As somebody who moved to Birmingham from the UK, where there’s an ALDI in most towns, it’s great to see them expanding with the new look store in Hoover.
Known for high-quality produce and affordable prices, the ALDI in Stadium Trace Village has great fruit & vegetables, a huge range of deli meats and cheeses, as well as mixing it up with a variety of international foods and home goods which rotate on a weekly basis. You’re guaranteed to come out with something that wasn’t on the grocery list!

What are residents looking forward to seeing next in the Stadium Trace area?
I spoke with local resident, Doug Anderson, about his decision to relocate to the Wilborn Signature Homes development near Stadium Trace Village.
“The new housing developments on Stadium Trace Parkway have so many amenities like biking, walking trails, a pool, a lake and a huge park. But Stadium Trace Village will really make it feel like a complete community when so many retail amenities open. We’ve lived in Hoover for over 30 years and this area has always been under-developed. It’s exciting that all of a sudden we’ll have a grocery store, restaurants and entertainment venues just up the road”.
“I’m really looking forward to Big Whiskey, it’s an American restaurant and bar that will show sports. It’s opening later this year”said Doug.

Doug is also a fan of newly opened Tre Luna Bar and Kitchen, an upscale Italian restaurant and is looking forward to more establishments joining Stadium Trace Village,
“Taco Mama is coming soon, we’re excited about that. They’ll also have a MELT sandwich shop, and O’Henry’s Coffees which will be great lunchtime spots.”
“We’ve lots of friends who already live in the Stadium Trace area, or are thinking about moving. It will be great to have so many places to socialize. And when we go out for an evening meal, they’ll only be a short ride away using Uber or Lyft” said Doug.
