Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids is a franchise that began in 1994 in Salt Lake City, Utah. With 98 stores in 23 U.S. states and Canada, the salon will officially make its Alabama debut in July when it opens its first shop in Hoover in the new Stadium Trace Village development.

Opening the shop is Todd and Glenn Hengst.

But there’s something unique about Cookie Cutters. Along with giving professional haircuts to kids and families, it also aims to provide haircuts specifically tailored to children with special needs.

Each haircut station is equipped with everything from bubbles to small televisions to make the experience more enjoyable for kids during their haircut. There is even a slide and touch screen play unit in the waiting area to cure boredom and to ease those pre-haircut jitters.
