Don’t get towed! Street closures ahead for Birmingham, April 13-14

Another busy weekend is ahead for Birmingham with many events occurring downtown at and around Railroad Park. Here’s the list of street closures to help you avoid getting stuck, towed or missing out on the fun.

Closures

Saturday—April 13

Where: Portions of 1st Avenue South between 14th Street South and 18th Street South
Time: 6AM-9PM

Where: 2nd Avenue South between 16th Street South and 17th Street South and 16th Street South between 1st Avenue South and 2nd Avenue South
Time: 6AM-5PM

Where: Portions of 14th Street South between 1st Avenue South and 3rd Avenue South
Time: 10AM-9PM

Sunday—April 14

Where: 1st Avenue South between 14th Street South and 18th Street South
Time: 6AM-2PM

Where: Portions of 14th Street South between 1st Avenue South and 3rd Avenue South
Time: Noon-8PM

What events are causing all the closures?

On Saturday, April 13, there will be:

  • The Chick-Fil-A Corporate Challenge at Railroad Park
  • The Jackie Robinson Street Festival at Birmingham Negro Southern League Museum
  • The Bell Center’s 7th Annual Cornhole Classic at Good People Brewing
  • The Birmingham Barons vs. Tennessee Smokes competing at Regions Field
  • A private wedding at B&A Warehouse

On Sunday, April 14, there will be:

  • The BHM 26.2 Magic Moments Birmingham Marathon and Half Marathon at Railroad Park
  • The Birmingham Barons vs. Tennessee Smokes competing (round 2) at Regions Field

Important Info

According to Birmingham police, signs will be posted at all affected locations. Vehicles left on the street in these areas will be towed beginning at 6AM on Saturday and 6AM on Sunday to allow the events to take place.
