Miami Fusion Café planning expansions, including a food truck
Reading time: 2 minutes
Miami Fusion Café is planning some tasty new additions to its quaint downtown restaurant, including a tiki bar, larger event space and a food truck. The restaurant is also preparing to sell their famous “Jesus Cake” in retail shops soon.
Welcome to the food truck scene, El Conquistador
The vibrantly colored food truck, known as El Conquistador, will serve fusion dishes while blasting authentic salsa music. The truck will make its first public appearance at the Oak Mountain Spring State Fair on April 18 at Oak Mountain State Park. From there, El Conquistador will travel all over Alabama for a two week taste tour, as they seek out spots for impending franchise locations.
Be on the lookout for the food truck around the Southside area, Grandview Medical Center and campus, all the way over to some spots in Pelham.
Currently, the restaurant is BYOB on Friday nights (whoop whoop!) on Friday nights. Once they complete construction on the café’s tiki bar, this’ll change! The bar will be located directly adjacent to the original restaurant location. The new and improved event space will span across both buildings.
Chef Luis Delgado was born in Puerto Rico and spent his childhood in Little Havana in South Florida. He opened the Miami Fusion Cafe in 2017, though has been cooking authentic Caribbean cuisine in the Birmingham metro area for nine years.
Miami Fusion Café offers Caribbean-style sandwiches and entrees, authentic sides, and even am extensive kid’s menu.
Miami Fusion Café is located at 2015 5th Avenue North. The restaurant’s hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 10am-3pm, Friday 10am-3pm and 5pm-8pm, and Saturday 11am-3pm.
