The Market at Pepper Place is gearing up for spring in Birmingham. Check out what’s coming up this April, including the schedule for a free business workshop series geared toward Alabama makers, growers—and anyone in the community who wants to grow their small business. Free Small Business Workshops
The Market at Pepper Place wants to help its vendors grow, so last August it launched a free business workshop series in partnership with BBVA Compass. Following its success, a fresh batch of workshops begins April 2, 2019, at the Lumbar, located at 212 29th St S, Birmingham, AL 35233. Workshops are free of charge and open to the public. Here’s the full lineup:
- April 2: 9-10 am – How to Obtain Credit for your Small Business
- April 23: 5:30-6:30 pm – Small Business Mixer Meet-up
- May 21: 9-10am – What’s Next for your Business?
I caught up with Joy Smith of Sorelle, a small catering company and regular vendor at the Market. She attended the workshops last year, so I asked her what she learned. She said the workshops are loaded with information that someone might not know if they are just starting out. Her main takeaway?
“I learned that I have free help available with the bank—someone to proofread my business plan and give me suggestions on how to make it better.”
Joy Smith, Sorelle
RSVP to info@pepperplacemarket.com if you’d like to attend the business workshop series.
Only 2 Indoor Winter Markets Left
March 30 and April 6 will be the last indoor markets of the winter season at Pepper Place. Then it’s back outside Saturday, April 13, rain or shine. Hours for both indoor and outdoor markets are 7AM-noon.
A note on pets: The Market loves your furry buddies. Just keep in mind that during the winter indoor market, they need to stay outside unless they are secured in a stroller or in your arms. The outdoor market beginning April 13 is pet friendly.
Strawberries Are Here!
Come visit Penton Farms of Chilton County at the Market at Pepper Place for your first local strawberry fix of the season. Supplies are limited, so don’t dillydally in the morning.
