Calling all ghosts, goblins, princesses and superheroes! Halloween is right around the corner and Asbury United Methodist Church is planning the perfect event for you and your family. On Sunday, October 28, Asbury will be hosting their annual Trunk or Treat from 4:30p.m.-6:00p.m.—and it’s sure to be full of fun and excitement!
Asbury United Methodist Church has held its annual Trunk or Treat event for more than 10 years, and guess what! It has grown larger and more popular each year. This year, there will be:
- Complimentary hot dogs, popcorn and water.
- Scary-oke.
- FREE carnival rides and games.
- A cake walk.
- Costumes galore.
- Fun for all!
There will also be over 40 trunks decked out in full Halloween-themed décor, and they’ll be offering FREE candy, games and prizes to all who attend. I told you there’d be bottomless candy!
Asbury Caters To Special Needs
Asbury’s Shepherds Ministry caters to children with special needs and strives to help every child worship God and learn about Jesus in a way that works best for them. From 4:00p.m.-4:30 p.m., Trunk or Treat will be open exclusively to special needs children and their parents. During the remainder of the event, a sensory tent with protective ear muffs and tactile activities will also be available. More information on Shepherds Ministry.

Kids Town
Asbury United Methodist Church’s Trunk or Treat is just one of the great ways for kids to get involved. Children in K5-5th grade will also love their children’s ministry, Kids Town. This ministry guides kids to follow Jesus by presenting living examples of what it means to be a Christian through:
- Bible lessons
- Music
- Magic
- Missions
One of Asbury’s missions is to serve its neighbors near and far. It does this through various assistance programs and by running its very own food pantry to provide non-perishable goods to those who need help putting food on the table. Additionally, Asbury tithes 10 percent of its annual giving to local and international nonprofit organizations.
During the month of October, Kids Town’s mission will be collecting PB&J to support Asbury’s Food Pantry and Oak Mountain Missions—and they’d love your help!
Asbury RESET
For kids in 6th-12th grades, Asbury United Methodist Church offers a unique and special experience just for them. The student ministry is called Asbury RESET and dedicated to provide a safe, fun environment for students to grown in Christ.
From the Fall Retreat at Camp Hargis in Chelsea this November, to FunDays through community, fellowship, and service, students at Asbury are encouraged to be the young adults God created them to be.
