Neighborhood Development
The developer behind the project is Charlie Duggan, a real-estate investor who has been purchasing homes in the area for 20 years. He’s revamped 31 old homes and office buildings in South Avondale that were empty, abandoned or falling apart. His company, Avondale Turn LLC, continues to seek out community-building redevelopment projects in Birmingham, by renting and selling homes.
Each rental home from Duggan features hardwood floors and central HVAC. Typical features of the homes also include high-end finishes, fenced yards, decks and porches.
