According to a post by Mayor Randall Woodfin, the following video was scheduled to appear on ESPN during the Birmingham Bowl today.

Here was the Mayor’s post on Facebook:

The Birmingham Bowl is a great opportunity to showcase our city and everything Birmingham has to offer. This video will be airing on ESPN around the country during the game today! #BirminghamBowl

An uplifting commercial, the video, which is narrated by Mayor Woodfin promotes Birmingham as “blazing a progressive trail, from our history fighting for civil rights to our future in social justice. Where people from all walks of life have a seat at the table. Birmingham is putting people first.”

Woodfin concludes the commercial with the invitation  – “Come join us!”

On average, between one to two million people have been tuning into 2017’s College Football bowl games.
