Plans approved for Hoover’s Stadium Trace Village shopping center
The Stadium Trace Village plans got their blessing from the Hoover Planning and Zoning Commission earlier this week.  See the details for this shopping center here.
The Specs on Hoover’s Stadium Trace Village
On the corner of Highway 150 and Stadium Trace Parkway, a new project has gotten zoning approval for a 43-acre development called the Stadium Trace Village.
The Village will have 70,000 sq. ft. of retail space, which means it will have some pretty great shopping. Â Get your credit cards ready people.
The development will also house a 40,000 square foot medical center and maybe even some office buildings.
Plus the Stadium Trace Village center will have 35,000 sq. ft. of shops and restaurants for Bham residents to enjoy plus an organic grocery store.
Extra room is being left open for opportunity. Â A hotel might even be in the works, according to the Hoover Sun.
The developer says he hopes to make this new development easily walkable with a similar feel to the Summit or the Village in Mountain Brook.
As of now, the developer hopes to open the Stadium Trace Village up for Birmingham’s enjoyment in the fourth quarter of 2018.
Keep Calm and Carry On (with Traffic Improvements)
If your first thought was about how bad the traffic surrounding the new development will be, you’re not alone.
Don’t worry-the developer has already been thinking up ways to improve traffic in the area. See some of the following ideas he’s had.
Two entrances (one from Johns Hawkins Parkway and one from Emery Drive) will help keep traffic congestion down.
Some other improvements include adding a traffic signal where Stadium Trace Parkway meets Emery Drive, adding more turn lanes from John Hawkins Parkway directly into the middle of Stadium Trace Village, and adding another left-turn lane from Johns Hawkins Pkwy to I-459 S.
To make the development pedestrian-friendly, the developers will add a sidewalk along Stadium Trace Pkwy until it meets with Johns Hawkins Pkwy.
Next, the plans will go to the Hoover City Council to see if they can get a thumbs up.
