For the 10th consecutive year, The Rotaract Club of Birmingham is helping Birmingham-area students prepare for the upcoming school year by hosting a School Supplies Giveaway on Saturday, August 5 at 10 a.m.

The Club will distribute free school supplies to more than 1,000 students while supplies last at four Public Library branch locations throughout the Magic City.

“Rotaract members are committed to serving our community, and that is why we are thrilled to partner with Birmingham City Schools and the Birmingham Public Library for the School Supplies Giveaway,” said Rotaract Club President Martha Miller.

Partnering with the Birmingham Public Library and Birmingham City Schools, the event will take place at the following four Birmingham Public Library branches:

Avondale Location
509 40th Street S Birmingham, AL 35222

Five Points West Location
4812 Avenue W Birmingham, AL 35208

North Birmingham Location
2501 31st Avenue N Birmingham, AL 35207

Springville Road Location
1224 Springville Road Birmingham, AL 35215

Each event is free and open to the public.

This is the 10th consecutive year the Rotaract Club of Birmingham has hosted the School Supplies Giveaway. Focused on education, the event is one of many key initiatives the Club’s service arm organizes to impact and improve education in Birmingham.

“This is an opportunity for us to help parents check one more item off their to-do lists as school begins by providing students basic supplies they need to learn and start the new school year off on a positive note,” Miller concluded.
