I Love America Night

Vestavia Hills sure knows how to celebrate Independence Day. Join the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce and Vestavia Hills Parks and Recreation as they throw down for the 36th annual “I Love America Night.” Bring your friends, family, and loved ones for an evening of free swimming, yummy goodies, and even a showing of the newest Beauty and Beast. 4th of July Weekend at the Zoo
- When: July 1st – July 4th, Hours vary
- Where: Birmingham Zoo
- How Much: Adult: $16.00, Senior (Ages 65+): $14.00 And Child (Ages 2-12): $11.00, Veterans: Free
Come one, come all to a weekend filled with zoo animals and family fun. Feed the lorikeets, try the Jane H. Brock Soaring Safari Zipline Adventure, catch the Red Diamond Sea Lion Show or even ride the Full Moon Bar-B-Que Wild Slide while you are there. To honor all of those that are active or retired military as well as veterans the Birmingham Zoo is giving free admission to those individuals and their dependents. More Information.
Riverchase Country Club Fourth of July Celebration

Calling all Hoover Riverchase residents and Riverchase Country Club Members. You’ve got a Fourth of July Celebration just for you. Fire on the Water

- Where: Oak Mountain State Park
- How Much: $15 per car load
Everyone’s favorite state park has got you covered when it comes to Fourth of July Festivities. The annual fireworks show starts at 9 pm. You’ll wanna pack up your car with some of your favorite people and enjoy the fantastic show. There will also be food trucks, wakeboarding entertainment, and beer sold for you to enjoy responsibly. Independence Fireworks

Red, White, and Brew
- When: Tuesday, July 4th from 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm
- Where: Trim Tab Brewing Company
- How Much: $5 advance/$10 at door, Children 5 – 12 are $2; under 5 are free
This cleverly named event will be just as charitable as it is fun. Go hang out at one of your favorite breweries and enjoy an array of food trucks while supporting a good cause. Proceeds will benefit Birmingham Education Foundation. There will plenty of live music from local Bham bands and family-friendly activities galore. More Information.
UAB Summer Band and Concert
- When: Tuesday, July 4th from 7 pm to 8:30 pm
- Where: UAB Green
- How Much: FREE
The UAB Band will be putting on quite the show this Fourth of July. The Summer Band Concert will take place on the University’s Campus Green between Blazer Hall and The Commons dining hall. All you’ll need are blankets, chairs, and yummy snacks to enjoy this patriotic show. More Information.
Thunder on the Mountain
- When: Tuesday, July 4th at 9 pm
- Where: Vulcan Park and Museum
- How Much: FREE
It wouldn’t be Independence Day in the Magic City if the Vulcan wasn’t involved. Rain or shine this annual extravaganza will be well worth the wait. 20 minutes of mind-blowing fireworks will light up the sky above Birmingham. This year’s choreography has a mix of patriotic favorites and popular music. You won’t want to miss this. More Information.
July 4th Festival 2017
- When: Tuesday, July 4th from 5 pm to 9 pm
- Where: Downtown Homewood
- How Much: FREE
The City of Homewood is throwing a festival in honor of the birth of America. This block party will host inflatables, rides, and plenty of other attractions. A DJ will be pumping more than patriotic tunes during this fun, family-friendly event. Fun Fact: Downtown Homewood is one of the best locations for “Thunder on the Mountain.” More Information.
Freedom Fest
- When: Tuesday, July 4th from 5 pm to 9:30 pm
- Where: Hoover Metropolitan Complex

Let Freedom Ring this Fourth of July with the City of Hoover. Freedom Fest will be in full swing starting at 5 pm. There will be a car show, great concessions, a performance by The Blind Boys of Alabama and a Spectacular Fireworks Show promptly at 9 pm.
