The Birmingham Hammers will be opening their 2nd season in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) on Saturday, May 13th at the Sicard Hollow Athletic Complex in Vestavia Hills.

Expectations are high for the sophomore season after the team defeated the Atlanta Silverbacks, one of the most successful and longstanding professional soccer teams in the Southeast, last weekend on their home turf.

“We are thrilled about our home opener versus Nashville F.C.  Last week, we got a fantastic result in Georgia against the Atlanta Silverbbacks who were one of

the front runners to win the NPSL Southeast title,” stated Chuck Thiele, owner/partner of the Birmingham Hammers, LLC

Tailgating at Sicard Hollow begins at 5:00pm and the gates open at 6:00 pm.  Tickets can be purchased at the game or online.  You can also purchase a VIP ticket – details.

And of course, you can’t attend a game without “Hammers” gear. Checkout the new 2017 jerseys and merchandise online or drive over to Soccer Nation in Vestavia before the game to “suit up.”

“The season is going to be exciting for our fan base .  Along with our NPSL schedule, we are bringing Chivas Guadalajara U23 and the MLS Atlanta U23 team to Birmingham.  We want to give our greater Birmingham fan base the very best experience possible,” concluded Thiele.

Children’s of Alabama

One last reason to attend the Hammers’ home opener this weekend – the club will be donating a portion of the proceeds from Saturday night’s game to the Children’s of Alabama Concussion Clinic.
