One of the more well known Food Trucks in Birmingham, Eugene’s Hot Chicken, has settled in Uptown.

This past Friday, I visited the hoppin’ Uptown district to find Eugene’s Hot Chicken’s first brick and mortar location packed out (the picture was taken after the rush).
Inside, the skinny, yet homey, food joint resembled the famous Birmingham food truck’s style.

According to a recent press release, the owner, Zebbie Carney, dreamed of owning his own restaurant for quite some time. The food truck was the most practical first step.
“I grew up in East Nashville, where food memories ignited a passion within me to focus on my culinary career, eventually pushing me to bring my own version of hot chicken for Birmingham to experience.
It has been received so well, and we are just excited to be able to offer not only the food truck but also a location in Uptown for guests to dine in throughout the week…”
– Carney

Apart from his passion and desire to own a restaurant, Birmingham’s Uptown district was very pleased to introduce his first settled location.
Tad Snider, CEO of the BJCC, mentioned how the fast-casual concept will be quite refreshing for the current options in the district.

Ultimately, after a lack of decision making, I chose the Jumbo Wings with a mild flavoring.

Congratulate Eugene’s on their recent expansion by visiting North Birmingham’s Uptown and devouring the mouth watering, tear jerking, southern chicken.
