Lakeview will soon host another pizza joint sure to entice your inner foodie.
Heat Pizza Bar will fit in perfectly on the corner of 7th Ave. South and 29th Street – yes, the old Rare Martini space.
According to al.com, Heat Pizza Bar opened its first location in downtown Tuscaloosa about a year ago.
The menu consists of thin-crust, artisan pizzas.
- Chicken Bacon Ranch
- Thai Chicken
Not one to branch out on your pizza toppings? No worries! The classics such as pepperoni, veggie, and Margherita pizza will be offered as well.
Following suit with Birmingham restaurants, local drafts and bottles along with wine and cocktails are apart of the experience. Sounds like quite the hangout, huh?
“The whole point is to get your food as quickly as possible, with really great prices and trying to use the best ingredients we possibly can.”
– Bernardo “Bird” Targett, co-founder of Heat Pizza Bar, in response to al.com
The building is smack dab in the middle of the hoppin’ Lakeview District, and Targett realizes it comes with a sense of responsibility to offer a fun venue with great food in the area.
To differentiate the restaurant, Targett plans on renovating the location with a hip look by adding garage doors to the entrance while respecting the current aesthetic, featuring brick walls and steel beams.
“I want to bring the beauty of this building back and uncover what was once there and utilize it as part of our look.
Or look is exposed brick and reclaimed wood, so it worked out beautifully.”
Lakeview is home to a variety of restaurants and bars. Heat Pizza Bar will combine the two together to be your hangout spot every day of the week.
