Wildwood in Need of Makeover – Plans Move Forward

Have you visited the Wildwood shopping center recently?

The area of town is not the most attractive and is, quite frankly, placed awkwardly, but this does not take away from the demand for redevelopment.

There is a need to keep up with trends in Birmingham. Many pieces of real estate are becoming hot spots for remodeling to boost the overall aesthetic. The same desire is needed for Wildwood.

Well, the time for an overhaul is here!

Oldacre McDonald LLC is going to lead the charge in the newly passed deal to redevelop parts of the shopping center. With Birmingham City’s influx of about $30 million, the project continues to look upward.

…approximately 156,000 square feet of retail space at the Wildwood Shopping Center on Lakeshore Parkway. It will also add new retail pads to attract upscale restaurants to the area.

Homewood City Council was first reached out too because of the location of the shopping center. Oldacre McDonald offered plans ranging from big named tenants, to improving entrances with lighting, accessibility, etc.


It is imperative for the Birmingham area to be on board with continued development. As mentioned many times before, this will allow our city to stand out like never before!
