UAB world renowned explorer, researcher and author Jim  McClintock will be taking the attendees on a virtual tour of Antarctica.  He will bear witness to the rapid changes that are occurring in our southernmost continent and the living lab that is disappearing as a result of climate change.

Act Locally.

One of the Bham Now  BOLD Series special features is the opportunity, for the speaker to choose a charity in which a portion of the proceeds will be donated.  McClintock selected Hand in Pawone of Birmingham’s most amazing and kindhearted organizations.  Checkout the slideshow above and the videos about this program that serves nearly 100,000 of our neighbors in the Birmingham region.

It will be a special night globally and locally.

This Thursday in Tuscaloosa – Connect to YOUR Coast with the Alabama Coastal Foundation (ACF) and the Black Warrior Brewing Company.

Stop by Black Warrior Brewing Company in downtown Tuscaloosa on October 20th between 4:00pm to 10:00pm for some great beer and learn how you can help improve and protect Alabama’s coastal environment through cooperation, education, and participation.

Twenty percent of all beer sold that night will be donated to the Alabama Coastal Foundation.
