NEW wine + specialty meat store coming to Hoover, late 2024
Soon, Hoover residents won’t have to travel far to find fine wines, specialty meats, seafood, gourmet sides and more.
Hoover Steaks & Wines is coming to the Knox Square development later this year, and we spoke with co-owner Danielle Deavours to learn all about it.
A new fine wine and specialty meats shop is coming to Hoover
On Monday, July 1, Hoover Steaks & Wines announced on Instagram their plans to open later this year in Knox Square at Hoover.
A brand-new store offering high-end specialty meats, seafood, fine wines, gourmet sides and desserts, Hoover Steaks & Wines is co-owned by five longtime friends:
- Danielle and Patrick Deavours
- David Arnold
- Josh Baker
- Tyler Camp
“The five of us have known each other for a decade, and over the past few years, we’ve seen a need in Hoover for something like this.
With several exciting developments in Hoover—particularly in the Knox Square area—we felt like it was the perfect time to get our dream off the ground.”

What to expect at Hoover Steaks & Wines
Hoover Steaks & Wines will be a brand-new store offering high-end specialty meats, seafood, fine wines, gourmet sides and desserts.
“We want to bring our knowledge and passion to our customers; so if you’re cooking a nice steak dinner, you’ll have experts in the shop to guide you on what cut to buy and the best pairing for your steak.”

Although the Hoover Steaks & Wines team is still working on identifying its distributors and final menu, they will be offering seafood from a distributor in the Alabama Gulf and lobster flown in daily from a distributor from Maine.
“We’re very excited to bring on Heath Ray as the executive chef for Hoover Steaks & Wines. Heath has a long history of experience, including being one of the primary chefs for Whole Foods in Hoover”
In addition, three of the owners—myself included—are currently in the process of receiving their level one WSET certification to help provide expertise in fine wines and pairings.”

In addition, Hoover Steaks & Wines will have an event space and patio where they will offer events like tastings, pairings, tailgates for Hoover Buccs and fundraisers for the community.
Coming to Knox Square in late 2024
Hoover Steaks & Wines will be located in a new building at the Knox Square development, near the Hoover Met and Brock’s Gap Brewing Co.
According to Danielle, Hoover Steaks & Wines plans to open in October 2024 notwithstanding any delays in construction.
