Responsibilities
Provides administrative support for program serving homeless or at-risk veterans and their families. Assists with reviewing and submitting purchase orders and processing payments. Works closely with Finance and Program Manager.
- Review Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA) documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Compile and submit TFA purchase order requests in Microix software in a timely manner
- Track hotel stays for homeless clients when no shelter is available, submit purchase orders and renew reservations
- Reviews Emergency Housing Assistance submissions for completeness and accuracy and submits purchase order requests through Microix
- Ensure TFA payments are accurately entered in Service Point
- Serve as liaison between UWCA Finance/Accounts Payable and Priority Veteran program staff
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills
- Background in financial administration, payment processing, or clerical work
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong computer skills: experience with MS Suite required; knowledge of Citrix and/or other financial management systems a plus
- Good communication skills and ability to problem-solve collaboratively
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently to process a large volume of time-sensitive payments
- Commitment to the mission of Priority Veteran
Education/ Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, finance, business management, or related field preferred
- Combination of education and experience considered
Working Conditions
- Normal office environment
- Occasional after-hours and weekend work
Requirements
- Must meet and maintain eligibility requirements to be insured by UWCA’s insurance
- Valid Alabama driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Proof of automobile insurance commensurate with State law
- Cell phone
- Background checks to include but not limited to criminal record, drug screen, and TB test
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
