Client-Facing Content Producer

Bham Now is Birmingham’s modern, mobile media and we’re on a mission to create a smarter, happier, healthier, inspired, involved + prosperous Birmingham area.

We’ve amassed an audience of half of the Greater Birmingham population and are still growing fast.  

We have an immediate opening for a full-time Client-Facing Content Producer who can help us make it happen.  

Location: Birmingham, AL 

Here’s what you need to be the right fit: 

WRITING + COMMUNICATION SKILLS 

• Writing for digital media: you can turn even the most drab topic into brief + engaging copy.  
• Timely communication: this is second nature to you. 
• Professional communication: Whether via email, phone or in a presentation with clients, CEOs or strangers, this comes naturally to you. 
• Resourcefulness: Digging deep on a topic in order to share succinct findings + take-aways is second nature to you. You can apply these same skills to creative problem-solving. 

CLIENT / PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS + EXPERIENCE 

• Client management: This is not your first rodeo, and it’s something you love. 
• Relationship-building: You thrive on this + know it’s essential to growing our client base over time. 
• Managing multiple priorities, clients + deadlines: You’ve got systems + tools that help you do this like the pro that you are. 

TECHNICAL TOOLS 

• WordPress: You’ve got this under your belt, or a similar online publishing tool. 
• Social media: It’s your friend + you’re good at using it to promote your work. 

BACKGROUND + QUALITIES 

• Degrees: You likely studied journalism, PR, communications or advertising in college.  
• Team player: You love being part of a team that’s got each other’s back. 
• Creativity: Whether you’re thinking of multiple ways to communicate a message to different audiences or solving problems, your wheels are spinning. 
• Open to learning: You welcome feedback + constructive criticism, recognizing that learning from others is how you perfect your craft. Continuous learning is fun for you. 
• Speedy: You thrive in a fast-paced environment—you’re good + FAST. 
• Proactivity: You take responsibility for your learning, your mistakes along the way + your growth. 
• Transportation: You can get around town in your own transportation 

Qualifications: 

• B.A. in Journalism, PR, Communications or Advertising related. 
• Min of 2+ years of professional client-facing media production. 
• Must have own transportation and be able to meet with clients on short notice. 
• Excellent, professional communication skills (written +verbal)
