Job Description

As a SIMON Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in the operation of one of the largest and most sophisticated risk-managed products platforms existing today. We are looking for talented and detail-oriented support engineers who are passionate about technology and client experience. As a part of this role, you will work with both external and internal clients to triage, troubleshoot, and guide the resolution of technical issues that are raised. This is a role for people who are looking for an exciting, dynamic environment interacting with both the world’s leading financial institutions and top tier engineering and sales colleagues. We’re looking to invest in this team and someday there may be leadership opportunities for the right person.

Responsibilities

  • Be the frontline engineering support presence when technical issues arise
  • Record and manage issues in Jira for reference of your team and others
  • Work with our sales support team to ensure clients are receiving timely help
  • Quickly become an expert on the ins and outs of our software platform and our business
  • Troubleshoot technical issues to the best of your ability using your engineering skills
  • Escalate issues beyond your ability to fix to the proper engineering team and resolve together
  • Monitor our dashboards and logs to ensure site health and debug issues
  • Give phone support to external clients when needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience of some sort with software development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be highly organized and not let anything slip through the cracks or get delayed
  • Solid understanding of web technologies, HTTP, and web browser developer tools
  • Understanding of basic computer networking concepts and troubleshooting
  • Availability to quickly respond to issues from 8am – 6pm ET during market operations
  • Ability to investigate technical issues and either resolve or know the right team to redirect to
  • Positive, constructive, friendly, and solution-oriented attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with at least one modern programming language
  • Previous professional experience in a support focused role
  • Knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure services
  • Understanding of Windows and common technical issues

Bonus Qualifications

  • Knowledge of JavaScript, Scala, Python
  • Experience with AWS, Gitlab CI
  • Some financial literacy

Job Description

As an inside sales specialist within our distribution team, you will be responsible for raising awareness of our platform working as a day-to-day contact for our retail financial advisor networks as well as being an expert on the platform to ensure all users are engaged and receive best-in-class service. Ideal candidates understand this is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the scaling of our fast-growing start-up venture and will possess a high level of attention to detail and organization, ability to learn multiple technology and financial systems, and the willingness to work in a dynamic, fast-paced entrepreneurial environment understanding the role will consistently evolve and expand.

While securities licenses are not required to apply, we ask that you secure your Series 7 and 63 certifications within your first three months, but we will provide you with all the tools to prepare!

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential

  • Proactively engage in sales campaigns targeting financial advisors in raising awareness of the SIMON platform, helping advisors manage and build their structured product and annuity business.
    Be an expert of the SIMON platform, showcasing the full functionality of SIMON within structured products and annuities.
  • Act as a liaison between end user issues and the SIMON engineering / platform solution team.
  • Manage all interactions (calls, emails, webinars, demos) in salesforce.com
  • Learn, understand, stay current and have the ability to verbalize the structured product and annuity landscape and how SIMON supports these areas holistically.
  • Provide creative ideas in enhancing user experience on SIMON

  • Assist in other projects as needed such as supporting distributor roll-outs, training sessions and new product lines.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-2 year of sales experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Series 7 and 63 certifications required within the first 3 months of employment
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel and Salesforce.com
