Green Acres, Galley & Garden, Carrigan’s received 95 and above food service scores in June

Several Birmingham area food service establishments, including Green Acres in Irondale, Galley & Garden on Highland Avenue,  Urban Standard on 2nd Avenue North and Carrigan’s Public House on Morris Avenue received 95 and above on their health inspection scores over the past 30 days.

10 reasons every post-grad should move to Birmingham

Here’s a picture of me walking across a stage, shaking hands with my university’s President (hey Dr. Bennett), and being handed the most expensive piece of paper I’ll ever hold. I had no idea what I was doing with my life starting the next morning. Can you see the joy and fear mixing in my eyes?

I graduated from college in May 2019. Starting approximately June 1, 2018, I was asked this question over, and over, and over again. You know the one: “So, what’s next?” Now, this was certainly well-intended and asked out of genuine curiosity. However, for a senior in college with no clue what they’re doing for spring break, much less with the rest of their lives, it can be a bit panic-inducing. College students, post-grads: have no fear! Hoover’s Stadium Trace Parkway continues to add more businesses. This week saw the grand opening of Culver’s, a Wisconsin based family-favorite restaurant chain, opposite the recently opened ALDI grocery store. As a Brit living in Birmingham, I was tremendously happy to discover a new food trailer in town that serves traditional British comfort foods. I was even more excited to find out Little London Kitchen invites hungry patrons to eat on their 1968 British double-decker red bus! I couldn’t wait to try it out – here’s what I found.

Chai Market is rebranding and opening new restaurant, Yummefy, at The Waites.

In March of this year, there was a fire at the Hospitality Inn that spreading and destroyed several other adjacent buildings, one of which was Chai Market. However, the owners are rebranding to Yummefy and will be coming soon to The Waites, 707 Richard Arrington Jr Blvd S.
