The Det. 012 Iron Warrior 5K, is a 5K run completely organized and executed by the AFROTC cadets at Detachment 012, Samford University. This event allows us to raise funding that aid in the training and care of future officers of the US Air Force while developing their leadership ability during their 4 years in the program. We use the 5K to connect with the community around us and grow relationships with the Birmingham area.

The Junior League of Birmingham will be hosting a First Responders Lunch to honor those who serve in the Birmingham community. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, first responders such as police officers, firefighters, paramedics, doctors, nurses, essential workers and others are invited to come and pick up a complimentary lunch during the event courtesy of the JLB and Texas Roadhouse.
