Opera Birmingham’s “Sounds of the Season” Concert Returns with Holiday Favorites and a Special Community Partnership
December 15, 2024 @ 2:30 pm
Celebrate the magic of the holidays with Opera Birmingham’s annual holiday concert, Sounds of the Season, on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 2:30 pm at Brock Recital Hall, Samford University. This festive event features beloved sacred and secular favorites performed by a stellar lineup of soloists and the Opera Birmingham Chorus, creating an unforgettable afternoon of music and cheer.
This year, Opera Birmingham is proud to partner with Grace Klein Community, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing relief to disadvantaged individuals and families in the Birmingham area. Opera Birmingham and Grace Klein Community share a deep commitment to building relationships and inspiring hope in those they serve.
In the spirit of giving, audience members are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to drop off in the collection barrel located in the lobby. All donations will help Grace Klein Community spread joy and support families in need this holiday season.
“This partnership is a perfect way to bring the community together to celebrate the season while giving back,” said Lynne Hutton, Managing Director of Opera Birmingham. “We’re thrilled to join forces with Grace Klein Community to share the joy of music and the joy of giving.”
The concert will feature bass Won Cho, soprano Meg Jackson, and soprano Allison Sanders. They will be joined by DeLee Benton, Lauren Tinsley, and Caitlyn Walters. DeLee and Lauren are graduates of the Opera Birmingham Studio at Samford University and Caitlyn is the current artist in residence. Opera Birmingham Chamber Choir will fill out the roster of singers filling the concert hall with audience favorites. Music is directed by John Robertson, who will accompany on piano.
