Make a Mini Book with Rene Sears
August 17, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
$30Saturday, August 17, 2024
10 AM to 12 PM
$30 per person
This demo will show participants how to make a mini book. The books can be made with ribbon to hang as ornaments or left without to display on a shelf. Participants will walk through the basic steps of bookbinding and learn techniques that can be used on both mini books and regular books. I will provide the text pages, and teach participants how to fold, assemble, sew, and trim their text blocks, tip on endpapers, make a case (hardcover) for their book in the Bradel binding style, make paper endbands, and case in the text block. By the end of the workshop, they will have a tiny book, and more importantly, the skills to make more if they choose. Tiny books are like potato chips – it’s very hard to stop at just one.
