Learning from the Holocaust: A Survivor Remembers
May 3, 2024 @ 9:00 am - 1:30 pm
Field Trip Opportunity
Join us to honor Yom HaShoah, the worldwide Holocaust day of remembrance, in this school field trip opportunity.
Students and teachers are invited to directly from Polish Holocaust Survivor Mark Schonwetter, Co-Founder of the Mark Schonwetter Holocaust Education Foundation. Listen to Mark’s story of survival, as he recounts evading Nazi agents and their accomplices, hiding in forests, and blending in with righteous Polish families that chose to protect him.
Sharing stories of his mother and sister, this once-in-a-lifetime event will allow you to witness the Holocaust through the eyes of a family who survived it.Â
Specially tailored for educators and students, this event is not open to the public. The event is split into two sessions. The first session will run from 9:00am-10:30am, and the second will run from 12:00pm-1:30pm.Â
Need-based assistance is available for transportation costs and substitute teacher reimbursement.
