“Impressions of Resilience” featuring InToto + UAB Artists at AEIVA

InToto + UAB student artists exploring stigma – how we navigate it and how we break through to finding acceptance and understanding in our communities
In a celebration of creativity and resilience, AEIVA + InToto are proud to announce this collaborative art show, “Impressions of Resilience.” The exhibition will showcase talents of UAB art students alongside the inspiring works of artists from InToto, local nonprofit serving as a a beacon of hope for individuals facing social and economic adversities including homelessness, mental health challenges, disabilities, and the effects of incarceration. Our gathering serves as a platform for emerging artists to share their voices and perspectives, fostering a deeper understanding of the human experience as related to societal prejudices and challenges that they face.
From striking 2D and sculptural works to live poetry readings and musical performances, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse array of live and visual artwork that confronts the complexities of stigma head-on. Through their creations, these talented individuals offer glimpses into their personal journeys, shedding light on the resilience and strength found within marginalized communities. We aim to challenge stereotypes and foster empathy through the universal language of art. Our hope is that we can encourage dialogue and reflection and invite others to confront their own preconceptions and biases. We believe that art has the power to transcend boundaries and create meaningful connections, and through this collaborative showcase, we hope to inspire understanding while empowering our community to celebrate the resilience of the human spirit.
Admission to the show is free and open for all to attend, and drinks and light hors d’oeuvres will be provided.
