Drawing Perspective & Observational Accuracy Without Rules with Kate Trepagnier

Tuesday, August 6, 2024
10:30 AM to 12:30 PM
$30 per person

I have observed that adults involved in informal drawing and painting classes are very inhibited by the notion of making things look real and restrained by the hierarchical status in a pickle ball competition to be the best. This social atmosphere constraints the intimate play of observation, the dance of hand movement and the emotional connection of accurate drawing and the individual’s visual communication toward others.

The class time will be flowing, quick paced with a feel of no judgement. The participants will draw 3 dimensional spheres and cubes using values and figure ground exercises. Once these confident building exercises are mastered the class will move onto a series of exercises that offer the appreciation of mark making and experimental use of materials. The class will conclude with the combination of accurate drawing expressed through spontaneous drawing infused with the human touch of play.
