You’ve heard his music. You just didn’t know his name. J Dilla produced for Kanye West, Erykah Badu, The Roots, Common, and A Tribe Called Quest — then died from Lupus at 32. This May, Birmingham honors his legacy. And his mother Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey will be in the room to honor it with us.

An electrifying night of hip-hop at Woodrow Hall hosted by emcee Shaheed, featuring DJ Modernaire, Suaze, DJ Supreme, DJFX, and guest DJ Phoenixx Starr — all spinning J. Dilla-inspired sets. Live performances by Phat Kat and Guilty Simpson.
