Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble -The Upstairs at Avondale

Get ready for a high-energy night of Louisiana Zydeco! Grammy Award winner Curley Taylor is bringing his exhilarating blend of Zydeco and Soulful Blues to Birmingham as part of the Bayou Bridges-Fall 2026: Connecting Communities Through the Power of Music Concert Series, presented by the Birmingham Zydeco Cajun Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to bringing Cajun, Creole & Zydeco music from the Bayou to Birmingham.

Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble have been bringing Louisiana’s party-starting sound to audiences across the country for years, including a performance at Birmingham’s 2025 Birmingham Folk Festival and regular appearances at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Whether you’re a longtime Zydeco music fan or have never heard it live, come ready to move – or just come ready to enjoy the music. The Upstairs at Avondale has a large wooden floor for those that like to dance, plus plenty of room to listen, groove and soak up of the energy of the band for those that don’t want to dance.

New to Zydeco? We’ve got you covered. A short, beginner-friendly demonstration of Zydeco Dance Basics before the band takes the stage will give anyone unfamiliar a chance to learn and practice before the music starts.
