A Taste of Sustainability dinner fundraiser for Alabama Environmental Council

A Taste of Sustainability is a downtown Birmingham progressive dinner fundraiser on Wednesday, October 22, from 5-9 p.m. benefiting Alabama’s oldest conservation nonprofit, the Alabama Environmental Council (AEC). We’re excited to offer a walkable dinner experience showcasing four of AEC’s EAT (Earth Aware Team) restaurant partners while promoting sustainable dining and environmental stewardship! Guests will enjoy four unique courses across four distinctive venues for a ticket price of $100 ($52 of each ticket is a donation to our nonprofit!). Guests can go at their own pace during the allotted timeframes for each restaurant, noted below.*
You will need to show your Eventbrite ticket(s) on your phone (or if you print it out) to each restaurant as they have specific menu items that are included in your ticket price – see below.
Stop 1: El Barrio | 5:00-5:45 p.m.* (2211 2nd Ave. N., Birmingham, AL)
Our first stop of this walkable, progressive dinner experience is El Barrio, named Best Mexican Restaurant in Alabama by Cheapism! Stop by between 5-5:45 p.m.* and enjoy their classic chips, salsa, and queso with an 8 oz. margarita (nonalcoholic version available!), included in your ticket. There is about a 4-minute walk to the next venue.
Stop 2: Golden Age Wine Garden | 5:45-6:45 p.m.* (2021 2nd Ave. N., Birmingham, AL)
Our second stop is Golden Age Wine Garden, James Beard Award semifinalist! Swing by between 5:45-6:45 p.m.* and enjoy a glass of one of their sustainable wine selections (or nonalcoholic kombucha) & your choice of their warm Castelvetrano olives or fresh bread with oil, included in your ticket. There is about a 7-minute walk to the next venue.
Stop 3: Pizza Grace | 6:45-7:45 p.m.* (2212 Morris Ave., Suite 105, Birmingham, AL – in Mercantile on Morris)
Our third stop is Pizza Grace, James Beard Award semifinalist! Stroll over between 6:45-7:45 p.m.* and savor your choice of 2 slices of pepperoni or white pizza (vegetarian) + your choice of ½ pour of wine from their by the glass menu, 1 glass of draft beer, or kombucha/sparkling water (nonalcoholic), included in your ticket. There is about a 4-minute walk to the next venue.
Stop 4: La Fête | 7:45-8:45 p.m.* (2018 Morris Ave., Birmingham, AL)
Our last stop is La Fête, a French bistro on historic Morris Avenue! Pop over between 7:45-8:45 p.m.* and relish one of their caramel apple choux buns + your choice of ½ pour of any wine on their by the glass menu or a nonalcoholic sparkling Rosé, included in your ticket.
Please note this is intended to be a walkable experience, and depending on turnout, there might be standing room only at some locations. We will email a map to all registrants prior to the event, so please provide a valid email address. This is a rain or shine event, but in the event of severe weather, the event will be rescheduled (likely the following Wednesday). No refunds – in the event you can no longer attend, the ticket will be a donation to the Alabama Environmental Council.
