1925 Silent Film Classic The Phantom of the Opera

Come see The Phantom of the Opera as you’ve never seen it before. The 1925 classic silent film will be played on the big screen featuring Tom Helms playing his original score on Big Bertha, the Alabama Theatre’s Mighty Wurlitzer organ.

Doors open at 1:00 p.m. Show begins at 2:00 p.m.
Seating is general admission; first come, first served.

Film synopsis: The Phantom of the Opera (1925) Unrated | 93 min | Horror
A mad, disfigured composer seeks love with a lovely young opera singer.
Directors: Rupert Julian, Lon Chaney (uncredited)
Writer: Gaston Leroux (from the celebrated novel by)
Stars: Lon Chaney, Mary Philbin, Norman Kerry

Tickets are $14.

This event is a fundraiser for Alabama Chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society (ATOS), the organization that cares for and maintains Big Bertha, the Alabama’s Mighty Wurlitzer Organ.

This event does not have a specific Covid-19 policy in place. Proof of vaccination or negative covid test is not required for entry. The Alabama Theatre recommends wearing a mask, but masks are not required.
