Bluff Park Art Show canceled over looming storm threat

One of Hoover’s most beloved art shows has canceled its upcoming festival on October 3rd.

The organizers of the 63rd Annual Bluff Park Art Show made the announcement, citing impending severe weather this coming weekend.

From the Bluff Park Association:

“Due to the threat of severe weather this weekend, the 63rd Annual Bluff Park Art Show has been canceled. We’re devastated to have to make this decision, but the safety of our artists, patrons, vendors, and volunteers is of the utmost importance. Thank you to the community for all of your support, and we’ll see you next year!”

Bluff Park Art Show attracts 30,000 people annually

Held every first Saturday in October since 1963, the show attracts an estimated 30,000 patrons and hundreds of artists from across the country. 

The cancellation comes on the heels of the installation of a special historical marker at the site of the annual festival.

As of Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 30), the local National Weather Service  Birmingham Office is forecasting Birmingham-metro area has a 56% probability of receiving 2 inches of rain this weekend.
