Montevallo, Samford recognized among best value colleges in the country

The latest college rankings from U.S. News & World Report are in and two schools in the Birmingham area were recognized among the best value colleges in the country.
Samford ranked No. 1 as the Best Value among all Alabama four-year universities and ranked 108th in the country.
Montevallo once again led the list as the state’s top “regional university” for Best Value and ranked No. 6 in Best Value Schools overall among Regional Universities in the South.

For the second consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report ranked Samford as the Best Value among all Alabama four-year universities.
But value is not the only thing the school was recognized for. Some of its other national rankings from the publication included:
- #93 in private schools
- #191 in national universities
- #135 in nursing program
- #230 in business program
The university said it was ranked among the top three national universities affiliated with the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU).

Montevallo remained No. 6 in Best Value Schools overall among Regional Universities in the South, maintaining its distinction as the only institution in Alabama to earn a top 10 ranking in this category for six consecutive years.
The school ranked No. 19 in the Top Public Schools – Regional Universities in the South, and No. 37 overall in the Regional Universities in the South.
UM is also ranked No. 21 in the Best Colleges for Veterans – Regional Universities in the South category.
