Outdoor Movies in Birmingham: 5 spots to watch this fall

Cooler nights are coming, and we can’t think of a better reason to take movie night outside. From a classic drive-in experience in Leeds to family flicks with dreamy Birmingham views from atop Red Mountain, there are lots of ways to swap the couch for the great outdoors this fall.

2. Irondale Cruise-In Cinema: Car Show & Furious 7

• What: Irondale brings cars and movies together for a Cruise-In Cinema on Friday, Sept. 11. Check out the free car show kicking off at 5PM, see who takes home Best in Show, then grab some popcorn and stick around for Furious 7 on the big screen at dusk.

• What: Wald Park hosts its Haunt the Hills celebration with a Halloween movie on Friday, Oct. 23. This is a great opportunity for the whole family to enjoy a night of trick-or-treating, bounce houses and costume + pumpkin contests before settling in for a movie at 6:30PM. 4. Vulcan Park & Museum’s Movies on the Mountain

• What: Vulcan Park & Museum wraps up its Movies on the Mountain series with Hotel Transylvania on Friday, Oct. 23. Bring the family, blankets + lawn chairs and settle in for a fun PG flick and dreamy Birmingham views. There will be free popcorn + cookies while supplies last, plus cotton candy, snacks + drinks available for purchase. Don’t forget to say hi and snap a pic with Vulcan’s mascot “V” before the show.
