Get excited, coffee lovers around Hoover—a new family-owned coffee shop opened its doors in July 2026 and the positive reviews are already rolling in.
Copper Star Coffee Co. is serving up coffee, paninis, Belgian liege waffles and more in the Chace Lake neighborhood of Hoover.
We heard from Scott Turner, founder and CEO of Copper Star, about what sets the business apart.

What’s on the menu at Copper Star?
Copper Star’s menu is intentionally limited, promoting quality over quantity—a move that Turner is passionate about.

The menu features handcrafted coffee, espresso, cold brew or smoothies, as well as made-to-order paninis. They also have something for folks with a sweet tooth—ice cream and Belgian liege waffles are on the menu + an option to make it a Belgian waffle sundae.

- Tropical smoothie (mango + pineapple)
- Cappuccino
- Chicken pesto panini
- Belgian waffle vanilla sundae
